The myth of Daphne was written by Ovid in AD 8 in his book “Metamorphoses”. Centuries later, the statue Apollo and Daphne was sculpted by Bernini.
In this work I video filmed still images from books of reproductions of Bernini’s statue Apollo and Daphne. The rhythm of the escape is constructed by these images and succeeds for a repeated moment to detach Daphne from Apollo’s grip, just until the pursuit loop continues.
