“Welcome to LAND/SEA where you can quickly learn how to cross over a border. When I shout LAND, you must jump over to the LAND side of the border, which you will find labeled on the ground in front of you. When I shout SEA, you must jump over to the SEA side of the border, which you will also find labeled on the ground in front of you.
If you find yourself on the wrong side of the border due to:
a) A mistake. b) Slow reaction. c) Stumbling. d) Disobeying orders.
You will be asked by the border control to leave the premises immediately.Gradually you will become fewer and fewer until only one person remains. This person will be declared as the sole survivor. Will it be you? Let’s find out!”
LAND/SEA is a game that simplifies our complex relationship to borders. Sometimes through games, core truths and injustices can be revealed. Why are we bound to act as we are told? What happens if we cannot act as expected, and what do these expectations mean for solidarity?
